Ms. Cody Bowens
Hello, my name is Cody Bowens. I am thrilled to be a resource teacher at Trip Elementary School. I have been part of Trip ES since the day it opened. First, I was involved as a parent. Four of my five children attended Trip ES. I took time off to raise my children, but I always knew I would find myself working in the field of education. Next, I was active in PTA and worked closely with the school, teachers and parents. From there, I began substitute teaching and now a teacher. It has been a journey I have enjoyed and look forward to continuing to give back to the students and parents of Trip ES.

Ms. Naomi Thomas
Greetings everyone! My name is Naomi Thomas. I have heard so many positive things about Trip Elementary and I am looking forward to joining the team as an IRR teacher for the 4th grade. While I started out on my journey to becoming a teacher as a paraprofessional in elementary school, I have spent the past four years at Alcovy High teaching 9-11th grade. I am so excited to be returning to elementary school and I can't wait to see what this year brings as I build new and meaningful relationships with my students, parents and staff.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 19 years and we have two children ages 13 and 6.
When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my family and friends. We enjoy traveling 🧳 , cooking 🥘 , volunteering and playing games together.

Ms. Yonette Ratcliff-Vaughan
I’ve spent many years working with children and have been teaching for several of those. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and my Master’s degree from Capella University. Throughout my teaching career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students diagnosed with Mild Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Significant Developmental Delays. I’ve also co-taught 5th grade Science and Social Studies in a virtual setting and have served as an Interrelated Resource (IRR) Teacher across core subjects like language arts, math, science, and social studies.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy watching movies, meeting new people, shopping on Amazon, and spending quality time with my family.
I’m really looking forward to an amazing school year and can’t wait to get to know my students and their families!
